Photos: All Souls Day Solemn High Requiem Mass at Assumption Grotto

The Solemn High Requiem Mass (1962 Missal) was celebrated at Assumption Grotto at 9:30 AM today, following a number of Masses that took place between 6:00 and 8:30 AM for All Souls Day.  The Solemn High Mass was all done to Mozart's Requiem with choir and orchestra conducted by Fr. Perrone.  Photos of him conducting are very difficult given the rapid movement and low-lighting (and no flash is permitted during liturgical functions). However, i did manage to get a few worth sharing.

I don't have time to comment on photos, but the pictures tell the story.  I have not gone through all of the photos but picked some to display here, so it will be some time before I get the full gallery uploaded.

I have a backlog of photos to go through including the ordination of parisioner, Fr. Louis Charles Lapeyre who will celebrate a Mass of Thanksgiving at Noon Sunday at Assumption Grotto.  There will be a pancake breakfast after 9:30 and Noon Masses. You can get a chance to meet Fr. Lapeyre and receive a blessing from him afterwards in the school gym.  There is a nice story in the Michigan Catholic online about the ordination.

Note: The Assumption Grotto Choir and Orchestra will also be singing Mozart's Coronation Mass on Sunday, December 8th.

Remember to set your clocks back.
